How To keep your favorite books in the library

With libraries ‘weeding’ books every 3-4 years based on their use in and out of the library, it came to mind that the best of the best of the minds of men are going to be in our libraries in the future.  Or will they? And who makes that determination?  If they are our public libraries, then is it just a select few that screen them or ‘weed them out based on their usage?  It is all based on numbers actually.  So the more the books that are checked out, the longer those books stay on the shelves.  It’s as simple as that.

It makes a good game though to have ‘Friends of the Library’ sell older ‘weeded’ books only for others to buy them and sell them at record highs because they are now in demand from scarcity.  Makes a good game, like I said.

I have my own personal library…and treasure certain authors.  Of course, when I don’t have them, then I can go online and get them when I need or want them.  So really, what’s the big deal?

Bottom line: If you have a favorite author or book in the public library, you might want to check the book out or pass that preference on to others so they can check it out, too, and often.  Keep your favorite books alive in the library!

Our God-given Human Rights

It’s never too late to express the desire within me that I wish everyone to know and act upon their God-given rights, their Human Rights.

Dec. 10th marked the 70th year that the founder, Eleanor Roosevelt, along with representatives from regions all over the world, formally adopted a document which was outlined by the United Nations.  These representatives laid out thirty fundamental rights that every human being on earth inherits simply because of who they are-Human.  This document became the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

First, some definitions:

We are Human meaning a member of the Homo Sapiens species; man, woman, child or person.

We have Rights meaning things to which You and I are responsible for and responsible for upholding- freedoms that are guaranteed and should not be taken for granted, simply because we are Human.

We have thirty Human Rights.  Do you know them?

How can we ensure that our Human Rights are being upheld if we do not know our rights?  Who or what entities or Organizations can help with this endeavor?  I can state it simply-those persons/people or those groups that recognize that we have these guaranteed Human Rights and which help to ensure that Human Rights are known and protected, not abused.

1. Those people and organizations that help uplift Humanity without enslavement or entrapment.  That would mean dignifying the personhood.  (Dignified defined as being worthy, honored or esteemed.)  If we are all made of star-dust and are creations full of potential, then isn’t it everyone’s duty and responsibility to ensure that we KNOW that and even more so, act upon that?

2. Those people and organizations that allow for participation and sharing in life itself and to which encourages an exchange for the benefits granted to them.  Most people are more than willing to pay it back or pay it forward once living from their conscience.  Do you know of such groups and organizations that encourage participation and sharing?  What do you give in return?  How do you help?

3. Those people and organizations that have and use their voice-a voice that speaks loudly for those that have & have not; a passion instilled within them to level the playing field so that all humans know, have and appreciate their God-given Human Rights.

Yes, it may sadly come down to doing actual harm to those that would want to suppress these rights but- – -That is how important Education is– so that the tipping point of using destruction can be averted if at all possible.

Are there effective and enlightened humans and groups of humans working either by themselves or together in unison to achieve the aims of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights?

Are there effective materials and tools one can find and use to help enlighten others?

Yes, there are.

Study to show yourselves approved.

Victim or Doer

Some people, including myself, have been in the category of victim at some point of our lives.  Why?  Well, for many reasons as we all can surmise.  I will not to go into the many and varied reasons here in this brief, but what I do want to go into is addressing the following question:

Does living life constitute just ‘watching’ it or being the effect of it or does living life mean that you actually get in there and do something pro-active, productive or causative with your life?  I hold the belief that times continue to change and so much so lately in regard to surviving and thriving, that one must grab life by the horns or it will eventually eat you up.  This means personally and collectively.  I  believe that our Supreme Being gave each one of us the means and the ability to survive.  Maybe the means and the abilities are different, but what if you could actually know the technology of how to do something and then practice it until you got really good at it so as to not be the effect or victim of it but the cause of good things happening in your life and in others lives as well?

Do you believe that you are accountable and responsible for everything that happens to you in life?  Are you a victim of life or a person that learns the basics of life and applies them?

How well off financially can you or I be? What does it mean to be wealthy and upon what does wealth depend?  How about being happy and successful in relationships, creating that beautiful marriage, having strong and healthy children mentally, physically and spiritually, or holding down a job, communicating effectively and so forth?  How does one go about life to learn and apply all of this much needed knowledge?

I leave that question up to you to answer for yourself, but here’s some help if you are curious.

I am certain of this:  “In seeking the Truth, we discover ourselves…In living the Truth, we define ourselves.” Mary Rensberry, Author at QuickTurtle Books®.

Trump’s speech, Al Wilson’s song, The Snake, (1968) and the Behaviors of People

SO…the bottom line here in this poem is to know who your enemy is, right?  But is everyone our enemy?  No, I think not.  Are all people to be trusted?  No, I think not, not right now.  I think there’s a small percentage of people that are actually out there in the world that intend to create harm and destruction. And do so.  There’s a lot more people in our world that are ‘good’ and want to help others besides themselves.  So,  how do you judge who your ‘enemy’ is or the right person to spend your valuable time with?  How does a person figure this out for himself without doing himself or herself in, in the interim?

So many times bridges are burned because we close the door on those we do not understand or find different in color, race, creed, political or social persuasion, to name a few.  Sometimes, we inadvertently allow ‘the snake’ into our lives that wreck havoc and destruction.  How do you prevent that?

As I listened to Trump read The Snake by Al Wilson (this was a song he wrote in 1968)  I do understand that when you know someone is a liar and a thief, do not trust them…and I would say that’s just common sense.  Try to get them some help immediately from the right sources but don’t let them interfere with you or allow that mindset in your family or group environment.  One is setting himself/herself up for much pain in their life if one does not have this knowledge to act on.

But what of people, in general?  How can you tell what caliber of a person are they?  How ‘good’ or ‘honest’ are they… and how trusting are they?

The bible states, “By their fruits you shall know them” (Matt. 7:16)  That’s a great start…but some people are very sly and ‘vicious’ wanting to bring harm and hurt to others instead of helping those around them.  Take a look at the pretty snake picture below…These snakes might say they did not mean to say or do something, but nevertheless, the harm was done even though they presented themselves as a ‘nice person’.  How could this have been prevented?  How could you protect yourselves and others you love and yet, help others that are deceiving themselves and others?

Here’s a free course you can take online and learn how to ‘read’ and understand people.  I took the course some time ago and I gained a lot of knowledge to use in my every day life .  It would’ve been a great course to take when I was young in school.  So, as a way to help you…take a LOOK!  There’s many other free online courses here that will help you in any area of life.
