How To keep your favorite books in the library

With libraries ‘weeding’ books every 3-4 years based on their use in and out of the library, it came to mind that the best of the best of the minds of men are going to be in our libraries in the future.  Or will they? And who makes that determination?  If they are our public libraries, then is it just a select few that screen them or ‘weed them out based on their usage?  It is all based on numbers actually.  So the more the books that are checked out, the longer those books stay on the shelves.  It’s as simple as that.

It makes a good game though to have ‘Friends of the Library’ sell older ‘weeded’ books only for others to buy them and sell them at record highs because they are now in demand from scarcity.  Makes a good game, like I said.

I have my own personal library…and treasure certain authors.  Of course, when I don’t have them, then I can go online and get them when I need or want them.  So really, what’s the big deal?

Bottom line: If you have a favorite author or book in the public library, you might want to check the book out or pass that preference on to others so they can check it out, too, and often.  Keep your favorite books alive in the library!

Our God-given Human Rights

It’s never too late to express the desire within me that I wish everyone to know and act upon their God-given rights, their Human Rights.

Dec. 10th marked the 70th year that the founder, Eleanor Roosevelt, along with representatives from regions all over the world, formally adopted a document which was outlined by the United Nations.  These representatives laid out thirty fundamental rights that every human being on earth inherits simply because of who they are-Human.  This document became the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

First, some definitions:

We are Human meaning a member of the Homo Sapiens species; man, woman, child or person.

We have Rights meaning things to which You and I are responsible for and responsible for upholding- freedoms that are guaranteed and should not be taken for granted, simply because we are Human.

We have thirty Human Rights.  Do you know them?

How can we ensure that our Human Rights are being upheld if we do not know our rights?  Who or what entities or Organizations can help with this endeavor?  I can state it simply-those persons/people or those groups that recognize that we have these guaranteed Human Rights and which help to ensure that Human Rights are known and protected, not abused.

1. Those people and organizations that help uplift Humanity without enslavement or entrapment.  That would mean dignifying the personhood.  (Dignified defined as being worthy, honored or esteemed.)  If we are all made of star-dust and are creations full of potential, then isn’t it everyone’s duty and responsibility to ensure that we KNOW that and even more so, act upon that?

2. Those people and organizations that allow for participation and sharing in life itself and to which encourages an exchange for the benefits granted to them.  Most people are more than willing to pay it back or pay it forward once living from their conscience.  Do you know of such groups and organizations that encourage participation and sharing?  What do you give in return?  How do you help?

3. Those people and organizations that have and use their voice-a voice that speaks loudly for those that have & have not; a passion instilled within them to level the playing field so that all humans know, have and appreciate their God-given Human Rights.

Yes, it may sadly come down to doing actual harm to those that would want to suppress these rights but- – -That is how important Education is– so that the tipping point of using destruction can be averted if at all possible.

Are there effective and enlightened humans and groups of humans working either by themselves or together in unison to achieve the aims of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights?

Are there effective materials and tools one can find and use to help enlighten others?

Yes, there are.

Study to show yourselves approved.

Sasquatch or AKA Big Foot

And here’s Sasquatch, or AKA-Big Foot…a very real ‘person-animal” in many people’s imagination.  Well, can your imagination or thinking lead to manifesting the ‘real’?  And what is really ‘real’?  Is it what we humans simply agree to?

Perhaps…in this case, Sasquatch or Big Foot has been making his appearance around the world.  So, it must be in people’s imagination to begin with, don’t you think?

Better watch out what we imagine- is what I think.  It just might come true, don’t you imagine? 😉

Let me hear from my imaginary friends out there! A click or a like or a comment would be great!  ❤

What is proper exchange?

I’ve been thinking about what to write next…usually I have no idea but when the Spirit strikes and the spark is lit, I just go with it.  Like right now.  Today I’ve had on my mind, EXCHANGE.  What is proper exchange?  IS there such a thing, if so, why?  When do you know that you’ve done all you could to give back to others that have given to you or is this exchange limitless?

These are really tough questions in today’s society.  With all the charities, non-profits, give-away programs, volunteerism, etc how does one really know why, when, and how much to exchange? So, I’ll be writing a little bit about exchange and your input would be greatly appreciated.  Don’t be bashful…this is just communication! lol

In my viewpoint, when one gives of themselves either of their talent/skill, money, or time to help you accomplish something or to be a better person, don’t you think that the ‘right’ thing to do would be to re-pay that person?  Somehow, someway, some time?

There’s that Pay It Forward gesture that I can bring up as an example.  If everyone really paid it forward, then this would be a different world entirely.  But somewhere along the line, the gesture stops and for different reasons.  Busy with life, forgetfulness, kids, chores, work, lack of morals, etc might be some of the answers.  I’ve noticed with myself lately that I try to look for things to do for other people NOT expecting for the gesture to be returned.  Usually I find I am pleasantly surprised as when I need that whatever us returned to me; it is right there to be had.  It’s just MAGIC how that works!  BUT…AND…

The bible states that ‘God loves a cheerful giver’ in 2 Corinthians 9:6-7.  It is also a natural and spiritual law that when you outflow more than you inflow, you reap abundantly and besides that, it’s holier to outflow, too.  If you are a tither and give a certain percent of your salary or money that you make to your church or favorite group, then do you do so cheerfully and with enthusiasm?  Paul states in Corinthians, “Not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”  Give because you love to give and seeing the results of your giving brings great joy!

Make sure that what or who you give your talent, time or skill to is worthy and will be responsible with what you give.  That just builds RESPECT.  To give to others, say like those on welfare, without expecting any form of exchange, then some kind of criminal is being formed here. It eats at their spirit…their conscience.  And when it happens so much, that conscience is hardened.  Those folks believe they are ENTITLED to a hand-out now even if there is no form of exchange given.  Welfare is suppose to be temporary and for those really needing an extra push when they can’t do it for themselves.  But there should be some exchange involved  in some kind of contract, if only in verbal form.  What about all those free e-books or downloads you get?  Do you ever think about giving an honest review to help that author or illustrator out?  I’m sure it would be greatly appreciated!  And it doesn’t take much time to do either.

Exchange builds trust, earns respect and is a gesture of love.  It is a gift that can be unexpected (like Pay it Forward) or can be something  expected, too.  It really depends upon the circumstances.  To give freely without expectation of return is to live with a “no strings attached’ attitude and can set yourself up for trouble depending upon the person or group you are helping.  See RESPONSIBILITY above.   But it’s nice knowing that with giving comes receiving…sometime, somewhere.

Why put off doing for others, being in right exchange, when you can do so right now?  Is there someone that’s helped you get out of a tight spot at some point in your life?  Is there a group that’s helped you overcome a weakness or helped a family member or friends?  Is there someone you could thank and help by giving something of yourself?  So before time runs out…why not get in some proper exchange?

No Retirement for Me

To work or not to work.  That is the question when one reaches the age of retirement which is usually around the age of 65.  Why it is a question at all should be looked at.

You might want to consider that the body was meant to be busy and industrious.   It was meant to be used with the idea that it will serve us well, if used and not abused.

When one goes away for vacation and is absent from work, or the body lacks work then one finds that illness and a sluggish body results.  This we know essentially already.

Should one consider retirement?  I AM (and there’s those two little words again-I AM) in the prime of my life, doing what I love doing and enjoying the activity and motion and decided there’s no retirement for me.  I’m attracting everything I need and want in this life at this moment so what’s else is there to do but DO IT!

For you-perhaps…but everyone’s has a choice.  🙂
